So we'll go ahead and get started.

And when we get started in just a moment, we'll be picking up in St. Paul's Epistle to the Ephesians chapter 5 verse 22 is where we'll be picking up tonight.

A totally non-controversial passage in any way that no one has ever gotten upset about.

But before we get into that by way of review,

we're in last time we started sort of the second part of St. Paul's epistle to the Ephesians.

We had the therefore, right?

St. Paul had sort of laid out his theological principles that were the groundwork for what he had to say to the churches in and around Ephesus, because this is a circular letter.

And so now he was moving to the more practical side. And what we're going to talk about tonight,

he's going to get very, very practical. So even in what we talked about last time, he was still

talking about sort of broader principles. He gave some specifics, but he was talking about our walk in Christ, our life in Christ,

how it should be characterized, right?

So he's moving into the practical.

But tonight, he's going to get very, very practical, talking about husbands and wives,

parents and children, right?

Sort of real practical on the ground stuff.

But it's important that for St. Paul, these things aren't disconnected.

We tend to disconnect a lot of these things.

We like to systematize and categorize things.
