Well, well, well, hello there, and welcome to the chipping forecast.

Welcome to the immediate post-US Open final round chipping forecast.

I'm Andrew Carter and I have just picked myself up off the floor of an Airbnb in London where I was watching the last three holes of the US Open from Pinehurst.

I listened to the rest of it on the radio, on the wireless, on the car on the way down.

And then I saw the last three holes. I mean,

I can't think Eddie Pepperl is here. Eddie, hello, first of all. Hello, Andrew. That is one of the

great majors for a start. Would you agree? nodding away. I would agree. I'll agree. I didn't watch a lot

of it before today. But what a final round that was, like you say, that is top level golf. Just, I'm lost for words, to be honest. That was extraordinary to watch. Yeah. I mean, if you're listening to this, then you will know what happens. But just to appreciate, and it's just immediately finished. We're recording this immediately after the last round is finished. And Rory McElroy coming from behind at the start of the day found himself, it's the back nine,

it's all about the back nine and the pressure of a major championship. And I hadn't seen too much

of the previous three rounds either. But that final round will go down as one of the great

major rounds. I don't think Rory McElroyo will want to remember it, but I don't think he'll

be able to forget it.

It was painful from his point of view.

He found himself with a two-shot lead standing on the 14th, wasn't it?

Yeah, because he purdied three, four holes at the start of the back nine, found himself with a two-hole lead.

And as soon as he did that, Eddie, it just as it's as if a a little switch went. And suddenly, his driver, which had been so good, he just got that flip left. I mean, sorry, just to precede the very end of it. Again, if you're, you know, if you're, if you're listening to this fork, this chipping forecast and you're, you've sort of avoided all spoilers and you want to know the result. Well, at the end,

Macaroy bogeed three of the last four holes and he missed two, three foot puts and the last

towards the end. And Bryson DeCambo hit one of the great bunker shots, one of the great shots

to close out a major championship, rolled it in from four feet. He wins his second US Open.
