Summary

Pods come thick and fast as Eddie joins Andrew to chat about the recent USPGA and much else besides. Eddie gives his thoughts on the two sides of Bryson DeChambeau and wonders how many more majors Xander Schauffele might now win. There is excitement about Eddie’s burgeoning career as a golf tipping guru, but most of all he's excited to be getting back out into the swing of regular tour golf - admitting to just how little real golf he has played of late. And to how much chocolate he has eaten in his young life.

It's time now for the chipping forecast, issued by Folding Pocket on behalf of Andrew Cotter, Eddie Pepperall and special guest Ian Carter.

0:32.6

Hello there and welcome to the chipping forecast again.

0:35.7

So just two days after we last recorded a chipping forecast,

0:56.0

but that was immediately after the end of the USPGA, and it was with Ian Carter, our super special envoy to Kentucky. Today, we have a resident proper golfer in Eddie Peppere. D.P. World Tour player. How are you, Eddie? I'm not too bad, Andrew. I'm not too bad. I'm recovering after yesterday at Walton Heath, where I only managed 18 holes. I'm sure we'll get onto it, but... Wow. Well, well, well. I mean, we want to get your thoughts on the, on the USPJ as well,

1:00.6

because we can still pick over the bones of that and talk all things golf. But also,

1:06.1

the reason I wanted to do this pod as well was because although it was nice and immediate,

1:10.8

the post-USPGA pod, I was, Ian was tired. Actually, he came across fine, but he'd worked his little socks off across there on his own in Kentucky. And I don't think when he went out, I thought he was going to ease into it. He thought he was going to ease in with a Thursday Friday, get ready for commentary on Saturday and Sunday. And then lo and behold, on Friday, Scottish Sheffler goes all caught on dash cam.

1:32.8

And that was so. I think that Friday did him in a little bit. And I was tired because I'd spent about 20 hours a week.

1:42.3

So we're raiding to go now. I say raiding to go, Eddie, but I had about two hours awake. So we're raiding to go now.

1:48.2

I say rearing to go, Eddie, but I had about two hours sleep last night because I was sleeping downstairs

1:49.9

on the sofa. No, we're getting on fine.

1:52.6

But I was downstairs on the sofa because Olive has had an

1:55.2

operation. And I wanted to kind of hold her paw

1:58.6

last night. She's a bit discombobulated. So she's all over the shop after the general anesthetic. Well, maybe she needs what I'm on this morning, some organic lions main. What does lines mean? Well, I don't know, but I found out a week ago and I started taking it. It's a mushroom extract. And I've been putting it in my tea and coffee. And I will say the first day I used it, I was awake for about 20 hours straight.

2:01.2

I was awake for about 20 hours straight. I was buzzing. I can't say it's really helped my golf, but I felt good on it. So, yeah, it's a natural. It's a natural lion's mane. I mean, I've heard of it, Lions Main. Maybe Olive needs a bit of that. Well, I'll give her some of that. I mean, I've just been feeding her biscuits, basically. But I've got a fresh coffee on the go, a nice flat white. Actually, on that thing, so now that's what people now, have become a coffee recommendation pod. On the coffee at golf clubs thing, I was playing golf yesterday, Eddie. We'll come on to your more important golf in a minute. As it happens, I was playing with another human being.

2:51.8

Actually, for the first time, just about in my life, I played with the assistant pro at a golf club. Nice guy. Jonathan. Johnny? I don't know if we're in Johnny terms yet, Jonathan. But then in the group in front, somebody, let's call him Keith. I mean, that's because that's his name. So he said, if you're looking for a good flat white at a golf club, he said, then you have to go to Halmshire, just, you know, Sheffield. He said, I mean, the danger with that is you might run into Dan Walker. And his positivity can be just overwhelming. It's like if he put a Labrador into some Galvin Green waterproofs, not a Labrador

3:24.3

after an operation, but just a Labrador in general. He's just too, he's too happy and energetic. So, but the Hallam shirt, and he also said West Lanks as well. So again, we look, we're skeptical, aren't we, Eddie, until we... Yeah, I'm worried I came across like a bit of a jerk last week with some of my coffee takes,

3:22.0

but,

3:22.3

you know,

3:22.9

I feel strongly about it.

3:24.3

Dan Walker, Yeah, I'm worried I came across like a bit of a jerk last week with some of my coffee takes.
