Today's hour, I'm curious about how to disagree an important subject for the age we live in.

It seems no one can agree on anything anymore. Everyone seems to dig their hills in. Maybe it's always been like that and we just see it more now because of social media. To join me in the conversation about this is Ian Leslie,

who's written a book called How to Disagree Lessons on Productive Conflict at Work and at Home.

I think we probably all need to understand this. Let me tell you a bit about Ian before we meet him.

Ian Leslie is a journalist and author of two acclaimed books on

human behaviour, born lives and curious. His first career was in advertising. I always wanted

to work in advertising. I thought that would be good coming up with slogans and ideas and concepts.

Anyway, his first career was in advertising where he worked as a strategist for some of the world's

biggest brands at agencies in London and New York.

He now counsels business leaders on communication and writes about psychology, technology,

politics and business for the new statesmen, the economists, Guardian and the Financial Times.

He's the co-host of a podcast series Polarized on the way we do politics today.
