Summary

This week, Amy VanHaren, who founded pump spotting is on the podcast. After her lonely experience being a new breastfeeding, working, traveling new mama, she recognized that to be successful with breastfeeding, parents need both support and practical resources. Aside from the app available to individual users, pumpspotting provides a B2B version that allows employers to provide a custom experience (i.e., info on lactation lounges in the building and a close community of fellow employees). There's right-size solutions for any business and their technology to make it easy to support feeding parents whether they are at work or home. Amy has connected and helped over 40,000 parents since founding this community.

Welcome back to the Miraculous Momma's podcast. I'm your host, Elizabeth Joy, and we believe

0:10.7

in empowering people through storytelling and education. And guess what guys today's

0:14.3

my birthday? I am 35 years old. And I thought that I was 35 this whole last year. So it's

0:22.8

really like I didn't age a year because if you would ask me in July how old I was, I would

0:29.7

say 35. So I don't know if any of you have had years like that. But I'm officially 35. And not feeling

0:41.4

any older, I think you're kind of always young at heart. I have lots of aches and pains, but I'm

0:47.5

also eight months pregnant. So I'm going to contribute it to that. But yeah, super exciting stuff.

0:56.8

We don't I went on a date. I realized in 2021 that we had gone on two maybe three dates the entire

1:08.4

year by ourselves. And I would like to go on more this year, but we're also adding another

1:16.4

baby in this year. So it could be a little difficult, but this time we fear we try to go on a

1:22.3

couple because it's my birthday and then Valentine's Day, we usually eat at home,

1:27.9

be to usually cooks me dinner. And then our anniversary is the 22nd of February. So we have some

1:35.9

stuff to celebrate this time of year. So we usually go go on a couple dates, but then last year we

1:40.5

didn't go out again until like August or September, like it was, I was like we haven't been on a date

1:47.2

in seven months. That was crazy. So I really want to try to try to figure out how to make that work

1:55.9

because even now like trying to picture somebody babysitting Jovi, which I'm fine with now,

2:02.6

but then like a baby that's a few months old, like I don't know about that. The baby might be

2:10.4

coming on dates for a little while. But yeah, it's been crazy learning how to adjust with the

2:18.8

ebbs and flows of life. And that's what you do. You adjust, you figure it out, but we want to work

2:25.0

really hard at prioritizing our relationship and our marriage. And we definitely know that there's

2:32.5

seasons of life. Like I said, I mean, we went seven months without going on a date. So

2:37.2

we know that there's seasons and we have to be flexible, but also really trying to make time for
