Coven members, we have some important information for you regarding Georgia's upcoming Senate

runoff election!

So you might be thinking, didn't we just have a really painful election?

And have I already seen these people's names on a ballot and aren't we done yet?

But no, there is an upcoming runoff election in the state of Georgia.

It is incredibly important.

So what the heck is a runoff election?

Under Georgia's laws, a Senate candidate needs to hit 50% of the vote in order to avoid

a runoff.

So in the election in November, neither of the state's current Republican senators, but

David Perdue and Kelly Laughler, but reached that cutoff, meaning both contests will go

to a runoff election on January 5th, 2021.

And these two races will decide control of the Senate for the first two years of President

elect Joe Biden's first term, but here is the key.

Democrats need to win both races in Georgia in order to control the Senate.

So many important pieces of legislation hinge on these races, protecting the Affordable

Care Act, protecting folks with pre-existing conditions, helping folks financially and
