Hello and welcome to Let's Talk About It. This is your host Taylor and today I want to address

0:11.6

a few things before we get into the interview and the topic and the guests that we have today

0:17.5

who I'm really excited to share with y'all. She's an amazing, amazing woman. But first

0:23.2

before we get into the topic at hand for today, as most of you know, several weeks ago,

0:30.6

some of my tweets from when I was a teenager when I was still in undergrad came out and

0:37.4

caused a lot of pain to a lot of different people, all of which is so incredibly valid.

0:43.5

So first and foremost, I apologize. I am so sorry. I am completely aware of how hurtful

0:53.0

and problematic and incredibly intolerant all of what my words were then were. And I completely

1:41.6

as I am today for things like racial justice, for things like anti-fatness bias, for things,

1:49.2

I mean really for a lot of things. And so I just really hope that my past can kind of

1:55.1

give some insight and perspective that even if you haven't always thought one way, you

2:01.0

can still be an advocate for change when you do learn, when you do put in the work, when

2:04.8

you do become really committed and dedicated to this kind of change and to speak out in meaningful

2:11.7

ways about injustice, about bias and racism really in all areas. So I really hope that even

2:20.6

though yes, it might seem hypocritical, I hope that my past work over the last seven

2:26.6

to ten years since those tweets speak for themselves. And I also hope that in the future
