My sister cheated on her boyfriend, and he's about to propose.

My younger sister grew close to one of her boyfriend's friends last summer.

Her boyfriend was studying for the MCAT in his free time and wasn't spending too much time with her.

So she began to hung out with the male friend.

Her boyfriend said he trusted her and he

wasn't worried or jealous. He should have been. Big mistake. He should have been. Huge. She asked

her boyfriend for a break and then slept with the male friend. She reported to me that the affair

was a quote unquote empty experience. Okay. Is that worse or is that better?

I guess better for the relationship, but yeah, I guess, I guess it is better.

She got back with her boyfriend right after.

Her boyfriend was confused when the long time male friend suddenly stopped speaking to him.

And my sister never said a word. She left her boyfriend thinking he'd offend

his friend or something. She asked me to never tell. So fast forward to 2024. Valentine's Day is

approaching. Her boyfriend texted me asking for my help, setting up a heartfelt wedding proposal.

I cannot help with this in good conscience. I feel I'd be

complicit in her sin. Their marriage would stand on a lie. Tonight, I encourage her to tell him

what happened last summer. Right, because boyfriend is about to propose, basically, and the

girlfriend still has this massive secret of hooking up with, to propose, basically. But I feel like when you come back into a relationship, you should maybe come clean about what has happened.
