Summary

EP107. We've all heard the proverb "it takes a village to raise a child." Back in the day this made sense. Extended families lived near-by and neighbours were considered family. Today, many of us live far away from our family. We don't have close relationships with our neighbours. For the most part, we are raising our children on our own. In this episode, Renee breaks down what a modern day "village" looks like and why you should be considering teachers, nannies, trainers, and the UberEats guy, members of your village.

Is drinking raw milk safe like RFK Jr. suggests? Can you reduce a glucose spike if you eat your food in, quote, unquote, the right order? I'm registered dietitian Abby Sharp. I host a nutrition myth-busting podcast called Bite Back with Abby Sharp. And those are just some of the questions I tackle with qualified experts on my show.

There is so much food misinformation and disinformation out there, and it can feel impossible

to know what's real and what's BS.

On Biteback, my goal is to help listeners create a pleasurable relationship with food,

0:35.3

their body, and themselves, which in my opinion is the

0:38.6

fundamental secret to good health. Listen to bite back wherever you get your podcasts.

And I'm definitely the mom friend you have always wanted.

Happy Thursday. Maybe you're not listening to this on Thursday and that's fine. I mean, I don't hold that against you, but I hope that you

1:19.8

downloaded it on Thursday because that's the day that it comes out and or even better,

1:25.5

you're subscribed or you follow on Apple Podcasts and then it just automatically

1:30.0

gets added to your library. But anyways, happy Thursday. I am recording this on Wednesday.

1:37.3

So the day before, I used to be so prepared and have my solo episodes recorded at least a few days in advance. But lately, I like to

1:47.6

procrastinate and just really stress myself out and record it the day before it goes out.

1:53.2

So that's what I'm doing today. It is Wednesday. By the time you're listening to this,

1:57.8

my fricking shop or my merch will be out and available to the public. I am so excited

2:06.2

about it because I thought long and hard about what I wanted on the merch and it's been such a

2:12.7

work in progress and it's nice to finally see it actualized. Like I had this idea in my mind. I've always wanted to do

2:22.3

merch with, you know, like clothes and hats, but I didn't know how to do it. And it took me a long time. And the

2:30.3

lovely Bailey from Play Digital Culture helped me out.

2:35.1

And yeah, now it's here.

2:36.9

And I have a shop.
