Summary

Can we get away with not acknowledging that this is our first episode since February? No, huh? Don’t worry, there’s an explanation at the beginning, but mostly this is just a long, unhinged summary with digressions into wizard bathroom habits (thanks, Twitter) and interruptions from a puppy. Neville has some battle scars; Harry learns to accept help; Aberforth makes a mean ploughman’s lunch; and the Snape Discourse gets ever-more maddening. This time: The Lost Diadem Next time: The Sacking of Severus Snape

Hi folks, Heather here, recording in a different space than normal and with the dog out and about.

0:06.9

So, you know, if you hear background noise, that's it.

0:09.5

And obviously we have some brief explaining to do.

0:13.5

So I wanted to jump in here and say hello.

0:17.1

And thank you to everybody who has reached out to ask if we are okay.

0:21.3

As much as anybody can say yes these days, yeah, we're good.

0:25.0

And I want to apologize for how long it has been since you've heard from us at the Quibbler.

0:31.1

The reality is, as you all, you know, have seen, among other things,

0:36.6

we are in the middle of what some economists, I guess,

0:39.9

are calling the Great Resignation, which is goofy. But basically what happened here is I took a new

0:46.8

job in February that ate my entire life. So the episode you're about to hear was recorded,

0:56.8

I think, like the weekend before my first day of that job. And subsequently, I stopped being able to do almost anything except work. We also

1:03.8

have the puppy, George, who has made brief appearances on a couple of episodes, but he is

1:09.3

a terrier and growing up fast. And he's a noisy little guy of episodes, but he is a terrier and growing up fast and he's a noisy

1:13.6

little guy. So between a couple of things, Alex's job was also intense, but we just sort of

1:20.6

dropped out of the swing of things with this podcast for too long, frankly. And I have since left the job that's followed my

1:30.5

life. I am doing something new that I'm really excited about. Not that that's particularly

1:35.7

important to you all, but George is a little bit older. So, you know, between those few things,

1:43.2

we think we're going to be able to get back to this,

1:45.8

probably with a little less consistency than we did before, you know, everything was extremely intense.

1:51.9

But we're back for now.

1:54.0

There are references to things happening in February 2021, obviously, on this episode.
