everybody. I'm hoping that our discussions from now on will be fruitful and helpful to everyone.

Amen. For today, our episode is going to be about hurt from authority within the church specifically.

And obviously, like, people get hurt all the time.

But is all every single hurt valid or are some hurts like things that we could work on ourselves?

You know, and so that's like the first question we have.

Yeah, yeah, I think, you know, I've kind of been using this framework of legitimate

versus illegitimate hurt. And the idea is that we're categorizing it by who sinned right like if somebody

sinned against us then we have legitimate reasons to be hurt like we should be

hurt you know like that's not a bad way to react to it that's a normal healthy

response to somebody who sinned against us yeah right so in my mind, I categorize those as legitimate hurts.

And then all of us also sometimes have illegitimate hurts,

where we really get hurt by things that shouldn't hurt us.

Like there's no wrong that's been committed against us.

But usually either because of our insecurities or previous wounds that
