The answer, of course, is that however much they change the menu around from one decade to another,

at Taco Bell, it's always the same handful of

ingredients just mixed together a little differently. Although this time around, some things are

different about modern American politics, and we'll get to that. But first, the greatest

political mirage in modern history, a pillar of the American

Punditocracy, the corporate media and grifters everywhere that is both complete bullshit

and also eternal and unchanging, but is always hovering just beyond the horizon,

unreachable, unreal.

And yet the savviest minds of the punditocracy swear it exists.

Most people live in it.

And if the extremes on both sides would only,

it's the holy center, drift glass.
