I'm Hello everybody and welcome back to the film re-roll.

0:31.1

We are the podcast where we play through your favorite movies as role-playing games and totally ruin them.

0:36.4

Now, what does that mean?

0:37.4

Well, we're going

0:38.3

to improvise our way through a movie. Everything you hear will be improvised. But instead of just

0:43.0

saying that we punch a guy or outrun an assailant, we have to roll dice that tell us if we

0:49.1

succeed or fail, and thus the story changes. Now, as always, I am your humble host and narrator, Paolo Quidos. Now, it's

0:57.0

just me right now. We're doing something a bit different. We're doing Memento. Now, in the movie,

1:03.0

Guy Pearce's character, Leonard Shelby, can't make new memories. He can't remember anything

1:09.5

after the accident that lost his memory. So whenever he

1:24.9

Leonard loses focus or loses consciousness, the next improviser comes in

1:28.7

and picks up wherever the last person left them. With no context whatsoever, I tell them nothing of what's

1:34.8

happened before they came on. All they know is that they're Leonard Shelby and that they have a

1:39.7

memory condition and that they're trying to find the guy who killed their wife. Now, one more thing.

1:45.9

In the movie, they also give the audience Leonard's experience of not knowing what's going

1:51.0

on, and they do this by ordering the scenes backwards so that, like Leonard, the viewer

1:56.6

lacks context of what's just happened.

1:59.5

We're going to do the same thing.

2:06.6

Now, we played through the scenes forward in normal chronological order, otherwise it would be impossible, but we're going to edit them into reverse order.

2:09.6

So, to be clear, we're starting with the last chapter chronologically,
