I think it's actually helpful to start with the idea of a third party that somehow

going to disrupt the two party system in the US.

Reason why we never get that third party that disrupts the duopoly in the US is because

we have a first pass the post winner take all electoral system which makes it very hard

for third parties to compete because voters don't want to waste their votes.

Everyone we have the episode that a huge percentage of you have been begging for.

Every single time someone asks us about third parties in the questions, we purpute it,

we said it was stupid, we said it wasn't going to happen, but the questions kept coming

to the point where when Alex Cantivritch on the show, he made a joke about it because

this is now our thing.

So in honor of the new year, in honor of the new Biden administration, we are finally

addressing this question, this topic had on.

We brought on Lee Drupman who is a senior fellow at the political reform program at New

America and he has written a book breaking the two party doom loop, the case for multi-party

democracy in America.

The thing to consider about this episode is that this is about more than just voting

third party.

This is an episode about how you should vote for libertarians or vote for the green party

under the current system.
