If you look at the really transformative politicians,

they were not outsiders, they were not amateurs, they were only the

just six, six, or seven, the Washington had a career in Virginia,

colonial politics, so Lincoln was a career politician, he was like,

well, if you are career politician, you know, us.

This week we are very excited to welcome back friend of the show Michael Lin,

his professor at the University of Texas.

More importantly, he is the author of New Class War,

which I would classify as one of the guiding North stars of this podcast.

He famously, or at least I've tried to make it famous,

made the point that there is no winning the culture war.

There is only compromise. It's something that we go into a lot in this episode.

We recorded this episode immediately after Joe Biden's inaugural

address, and as we're recording this now, he officially entered the White House

for the first time.

So we're treating this as a reset of sorts on the show.
