Today we'll be telling the story of St. Margaret of Hungary, whose feast is celebrated on January

Margaret was born in Kees in the Kingdom of Croatia, which is now modern day Hungary, on January 27, 1242.

Margaret was a princess. Her father was King Bella the 4th of Hungary, and her mother was Maria Laskarina.

She was the 9th of 10 children and her family was very devout.

In fact, one of her sisters is a saint, Saint Kinga of Poland, and another sister, Yolanda of Poland, is a blessed.

Her aunt is the famous Saint Elizabeth of Hungary. When the Queen was pregnant with Margaret,

their kingdom experienced an invasion by the Mongols.

The distraught king and Queen were sure all hope in battle was lost,
