What we saw over the last 18 years of combat, that near-peer competitors have made vast investments

and a great deal of not, both material and also personnel, to transform their militaries,

to erode the overmash that we've enjoyed for so very long.

Those nations, those smaller nations that are scared to death of China,

when they see a striker brigade show up from JBLM, it's like the heavens part.

And it makes them feel good and they know we're going to be there.
