A very, very interesting and important guest

today, Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, who was formerly chief of staff to U.S. Secretary of State Colin

Powell. He's a retired U.S. Army Colonel, highly decorated, widely published, currently the

distinguished visiting professor of government and public policy at the College of William and Mary, and he serves on the board of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity.

And I thought I'd bring him on to talk a little bit about current events in foreign policy and a bit of his own background, because of course he was chief of staff to Colin Powell during some rather tumultuous years, to say the least. Larry, welcome to the show.

Good to be here, with you, Tom. As I was telling you before, I'm interested in both in what you have to say these days about some current events and in some, you know, interesting developments in your own life professionally and your

own opinions over the years. But let's get started with current events. I'd like to know,

first of all, what you think of the foreign policy team around Donald Trump, and in particular,

this HR McMaster. Do you feel like you can speak candidly about that?

Yes, I do. I've known HR since I sat at the National Defense University amongst a group of

general officers, admirals, and others on the faculty who were interested and listened to him present his dissertation,

which would, he was a major at the time, which would, of course, later become a dereliction of duty,

the book about the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Secretary of Defense, Lyndon Johnson, and the lies that led to Vietnam.

I don't know him intimately.
