I'm Glenn Oceland and I have been in Tokyo this past week on business.

Now I was with a few Japanese colleagues coming back from a customer visit today when I heard the dreaded

question.

So, Grunson, where did you learn to speak Japanese?

I really, really hate that question.

And the only question I hate worse is probably,

where did you go to college?

Because the answer to either one of those questions opens doors

that I'd rather just keep shut,

and locked, and bricked over, like an Edgar Allen post story and then dipped and

covered in cement like the electromagnetic anomaly that became the hatch on lost and

then sunk to the bottom of the ocean like the island in lost on the sideways

reality version of lost and then exploded with the entire planet

like Romulus in the Star Trek reboot and then sucked into a wormhole anomaly on a

convales and then...

You get the point.

Now the last thing I ever want to admit is that I went to BYU or that I served a mission.

Because then the next question is ultimately, oh, so you're a Mormon.
