0:00.0	Questions are being asked about the way police handled their questioning of the young couple after they were spotted arguing.
0:05.4	On that newly released 911 call of witness says he clearly saw Brian striking Gabby.
0:11.6	But cops on the scene perceived Gabby to be the aggressor.
0:14.9	Now a park ranger who was there says she told Gabby to reconsider what she perceived to be a toxic relationship.
0:22.8	The park ranger who was there when Gabby Petito was pulled over warned her that her relationship with Brian Laundry
0:29.5	seemed toxic. Park ranger Melissa Holes says she spoke woman to woman with Gabby in the back seat of a police cruiser on August 12th in Utah.
0:41.2	The traffic stop happened after a witness called 911,
0:44.7	seeming to contradict the police report that depicted Gabby as the aggressor because she scratched Brian.
0:50.8	We're driving by and I'd like to report a domestic dispute.

0:57.2	Yes and then we stopped. They ran up and down the sidewalk. He proceeded to hit her.
1:01.6	I was employing with her to reevaluate the relationship the park ranger now says.
1:07.6	I was asking her if she was happy in the relationship with him and basically saying this was an opportunity for her to find another path to make a change in her life.
1:16.9	But Gabby told the park ranger she wanted to stay with Laundry.
1:20.5	She doesn't want to not be with them today.
1:23.3	She had a lot of anxiety about being away from him. The park ranger told the desert news newspaper.
1:28.5	But retired Los Angeles police sergeant Cheryl Dorsey says Gabby may not have felt comfortable discussing her relationship with Brian while he was nearby.
1:36.9	All they had to do was separate the two inconvenience them if you will.
1:41.0	Put this young woman in a place where she could speak freely out of his presence about what was going on.
1:45.5	I'm choosing not to say anything.
1:47.4	Neither Gabby nor Brian was charged but they were told to spend the night apart to cool down.
1:52.9	We thought we were making the right decision when we left them, says Holes.
