Summary
Horseback riding across Patagonia: Nancy's decade-long solo journey as a beginner horsewoman with limited Spanish, covering 3,000 kilometers of rugged trails, embraced by the wild landscape and hardy pioneers, forever changed by the experience, as told in her book Riding Into the Heart of Patagonia.
As a neophyte horsewoman with a minimal command of the Spanish language, Nancy rode off across Patagonia, alone, on horseback. Over the next decade and three thousand kilometers of rugged horse trail, Patagonia’s wild country and the hardy pioneers who settled there took her in and changed her.
She published a book about the experience, Riding Into the Heart of Patagonia. When she is not in Patagonia, she lives in a cabin outside Palmer, Alaska, where she enjoys the luxuries of hauling water, chopping wood, and high-speed Internet.
