Like I think I maybe have met one or two people that fenced and actually they were all from Europe.

So to have an American that's in fencing is kind of unique.

How did you get there?

Yeah, it's very big in Europe.

I got into fencing kind of accidentally.

I was always an athletic kid.

I liked sports that involved sticks like hockey, but they didn't have that near where I lived.

And I really loved ballet.

And ballet starts to get a little toxic once you get into your teens.

And at that time, my ballet place was in a community center, and they moved to redo the floors.

And I'm sure my mother was thrilled.

But she was like, it's too far for me to take you to the substitute location.

And they had fencing in the same community center.
