Party is our topic of discussion today. And joining me to talk about it is Karen Ann Harloss, who knows a heck of a lot more about the history and the current composition of the Libertarian Party than I do. So I thought, let's see what's going on in the aftermath of the 2016 election.

Where does the Libertarian Party stand and where is it going?

Karen Ann Harloss is communications director for the Libertarian Party of Colorado

and the Colorado State Coordinator of the Libertarian Party Radical Caucus.

She's also Region 1 representative of the Libertarian National Committee,

representing Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Kansas, Montana, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

Karen Ann, welcome to the show. Thank you very much, Tom. I am so thrilled to be here.

I have a feeling there are a lot of people in the Libertarian Party these days whose knowledge of the party really doesn't go much beyond the candidacies of Bob Barr and Gary Johnson.

But the party does have a long history and has had a lot of disagreements and debates over the years.

Comment on that.

And that's so true. And let me tell you something a little bit amazing. I haven't been a

libertarian very long. I've been a libertarian under three years. And I am, as you know, on the

National Committee. But I dove right in. And I was very fascinated by the history from the beginning

and what a rich tradition in history we have.
