That was really the disconnect at first, was the reality of the scriptures versus what I was seeing and what I was seeing the Barner Research Group present to people. And then after that, I started looking into this book by Frank Viola because it's actually a co-written, co-authored

book by George Barna.

And I thought if George Barna was getting into this, he's obviously seeing something in the numbers

and the research.

And so then he co-authors this book with Frank Viola and it's pagan Christianity, which obviously

that first thing that you think of is

they're going to be tearing down the whole idea of church and just to not go.

And I think that's kind of the knee-jerk reaction for a lot of Christians is you don't have

to go to church anymore.

I don't think that's what George Barna or Frank Viola is saying at all.

And you learn that through the balance, right?

Everything comes to balance at the end of your reconstruction

because you have to go through a deconstruction process,

but you also have to go through a reconstruction process.

And if you think about it like the disciples, that's what they were doing.

When they were walking around with Jesus, they were literally going through a deconstruction process of their current religious practices and faith.

So I think for us that deconstruct and reconstruct, we're not saying, as Pete said at the beginning, throw the baby out with the bathwater.

We're saying there's a lot of things that we really need to talk about.
