Summary

Consider this a very non-bias and non-religious way to open your heart and mind to practicing a new art. Spirituality is a personal and open-minded non judgement based, no rules practice. It's believing in kindness, the light, the human spirit, nature, relaxation time in the morning, breath work, being a good person, even when others are not kind to you. Especially when others are not kind to you. How can we also promote more minority women and women in our fields and keep being more realistic about wellness? Create your own Maui Ranch. Free practices, not selling products or scamming others, not being a shitty person, not praying on vulnerable people. Spirituality is celebrating all race, religion, creed, being open to other's beliefs. non judgement - and open heartedness, and loving on those who practice good deeds. Esp when poor and scammy behavior is so praised in this twisted world, we can do our part to praise the light, the good and the kind. Those who look for nothing in return. Lest we forget - reward more minority women - pay them what they are worth -- hire more minorities, give more good people great opportunities! We must practice rewarding good behavior too & continue to do things that Grandma would be proud of, while using your brain. xx ck

Welcome to the Wabi-Sabby podcast. This is episode number 80. How to Relax and be spiritually

0:09.9

free, especially if you work in media. Well, Aloha from Oahu. I'll be working out here for just a bit. I'm not relaxing here, which is why I thought

0:24.5

today's episode was very important to share how to relax. There is a book by Titnot Han that I

0:31.5

often read that is titled How to Relax. I think so many of us are plagued by work addiction, by the pandemic,

0:40.9

by watching way too much news, by being affected by things like conspiracy theories and

0:48.6

brainwashing, manipulation, marketing, advertising, and we forget the most important part of being on this one planet in one moment of time is actually just to be of service for others.

1:04.1

And that is why I do this podcast every week for free.

1:08.2

It is my public service way of helping through journalism and bringing you a different

1:14.0

lens. I'm currently out here studying at Buddhist temples and working with bishops, monks,

1:21.3

and those who are part of a Buddhist congregation. The spiritual beings that I have been around

1:27.3

are very different and vastly different

1:30.3

from those I have been around in different parts of the world while studying and writing books.

1:36.4

I also want to let you know that I had several Hawaiian girls reach out and thank me for the work

1:43.2

that I do, but I really have to just thank you,

1:45.6

because if nobody listened to the Wabi-Sabi podcast, we wouldn't have a reason to share.

1:50.9

So thank you for listening.

1:53.0

It is apparent to me that most of us cannot check out or leave work or social media without feeling in panic.

2:01.5

I don't know if this is fully true or not,

2:05.4

but our amazing colleague, Selena Gomez,

2:08.4

has not been on social or the internet for about four years.

2:14.3

And that is one of the most beautiful practices I think I've ever heard. When you are in

2:20.0

media or a public figure, it is very difficult to be on social media. You tend to compare,
