I kept paddling, I kept working through it, and eventually like I came to a point where Mason Gravely. Today we're talking to Casey Kiernan. I met Casey. Actually, kind of through a number of things, but she's one of the pro athletes over at Athletic Brewing, which is my day job. We make non-alcoholic craft beer. Casey's one of our athletes, and she is also an incredible paddleboarder, which is a sport she

actually only got into this year, but she won a pretty amazing race across the ocean earlier

this summer back in June, literally only paddle boarding for six months, and she won this highly

coveted race called the Crossing for Cystic Fibrosis, and she won this highly coveted race called the crossing

for cystic fibrosis. And the race itself is 80 miles. It's from the Bahamas to Florida.

It takes like 12 to 24 hours, like depending on how fast you can paddle. But Casey trained as we're

going to hear, you know, had a plan and didn't expect to win, but she won.

So it was totally a surprise to her.

But she's not, you know, new to winning.

She was the, she's a two-time world skimboarding champion.

So she's been on the podium before.

But we're going to hear from her how she got ready, what the experience was like, and what it's like standing up on a board and paddling, you know, 13 hours across the ocean. I found it pretty inspiring, and if you'd like to do it this upcoming summer, I'm going to challenge you. I'm going to set a goal for myself to do it, and if anyone out there wants to join, please let me know, hit me up. Maybe we could

train together or something. I've got a paddleboard and I'm going to be hitting it up. I already

use it quite a bit, but I want to be training for something like this. So if anyone out there

Yeah. Where are you coming from today? And is that home for you?

So I am in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, so southeast side of Florida.

So are you from that area originally? Was that where you're born and raised, or is it kind of new to you?

Yeah, I'm a South Florida native.
