Hey, all right. Tell us who you are and what you do.

I am a mom and stylist living in the Midwest, and I write about my life over at Design for Mankind.com. And I'm a writer and mom living in central Texas, and you can find me online at theartofsimple. This is a home episode. So in this one, we're going to talk about ways to be a house people want to hang out in and just easy ways to help friends feel more at home

where we are. And we're going to talk about how hospitality does not have to be complicated

and our favorite formula for entertaining. All right. So, Erin, this is the summer season,

which usually means a little more free time and a little more time with friends. So do you see an uptick

in having people over during the summer? I do. I do. Well, and I always call myself a summer

friend because in the winter I am just hibernating. Like you don't see me in the winter. I don't come out.

So summer is basically when we schedule absolutely everything. What about you?

Yeah, mostly because the kids are out of

school. And so we suddenly can have people over on Tuesday, you know, and it's not going to like throw

things off. Whereas in the school year, I mean, sure we could, but, you know, people need to leave by like

7.30 or 8. And that just isn't possible usually when we have friends over for dinner. Yeah, and then weekends are

for decompressing and families. So yeah, I totally get that. I totally get that. I'm curious what kind of,

what's your hosting personality? I am so laid back and chill. It's almost, I almost hesitate to

even call it hosting, if that makes any sense. But it is in a

very organic way. I like just having people feel like they can come over and not see any pretense

or like I, you know, am doing something different than what we would normally do at home,

minus maybe slightly cleaner kitchen or something. How about you? Yes, same. And it's so funny
