Summary
When Adrian’s wife thought it would be a good idea to learn how to Paraglide, she probably didn’t foresee that in a relatively short amount of time, her husband would be summiting and flying solo off volcanoes near their home in Mexico City.
Obviously, Adrian took to the sport quickly and it gave him a completely different view of his other favorite hobby, climbing. But with their recent family addition of a little girl and limited time off work, Adrian needed a way to summit mountains over 18,000 feet and return home in the same day. This led him to sleeping in a hypoxic chamber to decrease the amount of time needed to acclimate to high elevation. Talk about dedication to adventure. What’s your excuse?
Adrian will also be supporting Marko Hrgetic in the Red Bull X-Alps this June.

| 0:00.0 | And then after that, I had to carry all the equipment across the volcano and traverse to find, well, to get to the route that I climbed up so I could go back down and get back to my car. |
| 0:13.0 | So that was not really a hike and fly. It was like a hike and fly and then hike some more. |
| 0:37.4 | Hey folks. Hope you're having a good week. I hope you're getting ready for some adventure this weekend. If not, I'm not really doing anything this weekend. I had a very busy last weekend doing one of our 24-hour adventures. I started doing one 24-hour experience where it's like, you know, you leave on Friday, you do an adventure, you know, you camp Friday night, |
| 0:55.2 | you get to where you're going Friday, do the adventure and then you're back Saturday night |
| 0:59.0 | so that I'm only away from the family for, you know, 24 hours total. So they only have to go |
| 1:03.8 | through, you know, one meal, one time going to bed together without me. And that's something I'm starting to do just to be able to fit |
| 1:12.4 | adventure in. And I do that every eight weeks with my friends. And what's cool about that is, |
| 1:16.9 | you know, it's not, it's not so infrequent that it's, it's, you know, too spread out like once |
| 1:24.1 | a quarter, but it's not so frequent like once a month that it just, you know, |
| 1:28.0 | you start having to skip months because, you know, weekends just fill up when you have kids or |
| 1:33.1 | you got, you know, busy life. So once every two months, we found a good cadence. That gives us six |
| 1:39.1 | 24-hour trips a year and not including all the little things we do in between or the evening |
| 1:45.4 | stuff or just something else that randomly pops up. It feels like a lot more than it is. |
| 1:50.0 | And you'd be absolutely amazed what you can fit into a 24-hour experience, especially if maybe |
| 1:56.6 | one of those turns into a 48-hour or, you know, a 30-hour experience. You can fit so much adventure |
| 2:03.3 | into that amount of time. And someone who's really doing that, to the nth degree, is Adrian Garza |
| 2:10.1 | here. Adrian was on the show a few years ago. This is a throwback. But this guy is unbelievable. He |
| 2:16.4 | takes it to a whole different level. |
| 2:18.7 | He will climb to the top of 18,000 foot volcanoes and literally paraglide off the top. |
| 2:25.1 | One, because it's really freaking awesome to do that. |
| 2:28.3 | Two, it's a heck of a lot faster than down climbing. |
| 2:32.7 | You know, climbing up a mountain takes enough time, but he can jump off the top and be down |
