Sup you guys and welcome back to another episode of your favorite on C's podcast. I feel like are we far apart? We're in the same spot we were. Exactly. So welcome back season seven. And we want to talk about something that is key to life. Something that can be very difficult. And that is. Da da da da da. That's not a drum roll. Discipline baby. What is that even mean? Hello, I wanted to I put it on there because I saw it like in the bottom list like three times like I saw financial discipline. I saw something else discipline. And I was like, okay, well, I guess discipline is the thing. Yeah, it's like three times in there. But there it applies to all these different areas. And like you said, I guess it has different like definitions too. Yeah. You know what? Well, you know what the other day I was on the phone and something happened to where my brain went off and I started thinking about discipline and how discipline takes decision. What I mean by discipline takes decision is if I'm going to start a gym routine, |
| 2:25.5 | can't say I'm gonna start it, |
| 2:27.1 | if I don't give a close out the night before. |
| 2:28.9 | Put the shoes by the clothes, get the protein shake, |
| 2:32.5 | have that, you know, whatever, like, |
| 2:34.2 | there are certain moves you make in discipline |
| 2:37.7 | to discipline yourself. |
| 2:39.1 | Discipline doesn't start by osmosis. |
| 2:41.7 | You know, it, like you have to put work into it. |
| 2:44.8 | And a lot of times where we fail or don't start things properly is because we like the discipline, we like the decisions to move into discipline. But what do you think holds people back from making the decision? I think it's interesting because you know that discipline is a good thing. Yeah. You know that if you have physical discipline and you, you know, go to the gym and you push back that plate and don't eat that sugar and all of that, you're going to love the way you look. But then it's still hard to make that initial decision to do the work, to get to what you know is coming, even though you know that's coming. Right. You know? So a lot of times it is the work that's put into it, because sugar tastes good. Absolutely. That play the food that you want me to push away, this is some good stuff on that plate. Sure. You know what I'm saying? So it's like to deny yourself, denial is a part of discipline. And because there are so many things that the world tells us no to, |
| 3:45.8 | we wanna be able to say yes to some area. |
| 3:48.2 | And it just so happens to be us not being disciplined. |
| 3:53.1 | It takes a mindset shift to discipline yourself to do things. |
| 3:56.8 | Yeah. |
| 3:58.0 | You know what's interesting? |
| 3:59.5 | I was talking to somebody. |
| 4:03.2 | I feel like it's hard to make decisions, but you don't have to make a decision unless there's options. And so I think that I don't know, I feel like we frame the thinking wrong. Like, oh, there's options. Okay, well, we don't know if you're disciplined or not, unless you are disciplined enough to choose one option out of the other options. Right, right. Like I don't know if, uh, or let's say even just dating, right? How do you know if the person wants you, if they can't have nobody else? Ooh. Do you know what I'm saying? Like, there has to be options for you to know what's real and what's not because, okay okay, out of the options, I am choosing this. Yeah. |
| 4:45.3 | So I feel like that's the thing about discipline, |
| 4:47.3 | that's interesting to me is like, |
| 4:48.5 | of course there's options. |
| 4:49.7 | The discipline is picking the right option. How do you know you're picking the right option? So there's so many things. It's like, yes, a lot of options. And you're saying make a choice. And we even kind of like my new leader microscopically talked about like different choices. |
