Episode Notes:

7 Things You Can Say When Confronted with Disrespect:

  • It sounds like you didn’t intend to hurt me but this is how I feel.
  • If you start yelling at me and calling me names, I will leave and disengage from the conversation.
  • I can’t continue this conversation anymore because I am not comfortable with how you are speaking to me.
  • I’m not okay with put downs or mean comments that are excused as jokes. It isn’t funny.
  • This way of discussing the issue isn’t working for me.
  • Let’s pause this conversation and come back to it when we have had time to calm down.
  • That’s not how I see it. I am not going to argue about it anymore.
  •
