Episode Notes:

7 Things You Can Say When Confronted with Disrespect:

  1. It sounds like you didn’t intend to hurt me but this is how I feel.
  2. If you start yelling at me and calling me names, I will leave and disengage from the conversation.
  3. I can’t continue this conversation anymore because I am not comfortable with how you are speaking to me.
  4. I’m not okay with put downs or mean comments that are excused as jokes. It isn’t funny.
  5. This way of discussing the issue isn’t working for me.
  6. Let’s pause this conversation and come back to it when we have had time to calm down.
  7. That’s not how I see it. I am not going to argue about it anymore.
