Tonight we'll continue the series of talks on the Satipetana Suta and in particular

the fourth foundation,

mindfulness.

mindfulness of Damas,

Dama in Polly, Dorma in Sanskrit.

And Damme here means categories of experience or categories of phenomena. And this is the investigation of how different elements of mind and body function in our experience.

And in this fourth foundation, the Buddha included instructions on working with the

hindrances, with the sense fears, the aggregates, the factors of awakening, and the

for noble truths. So we left off last year in the middle of the discussion of the seven factors of

awakening. So just as a reminder of the central importance of these Enlightenment factors, I'd like to read

some of the Buddha's words about this from the Polytexts, from the Suites.

Abiku approached the Buddha and asked,

Factors of Enlightenment.

In what way are they called factors of enlightenment?

They lead to Enlightenment Bicu.

In that sense, they are called factors of enlightenment.

Bicu is the seven factors of enlightenment when developed and cultivated are noble and
