At Lennifellkin's wide receiver Calvin Ridley was suspended by the NFL for at least one year yesterday, after it was found out he was betting on NFL games, so he won't be available for the 2022 season.

My stance of this whole situation is very simple. If you bet on your own team to win on the money line or you bet on other teams, I don't really see the harm in that.

For example, Pete Rose, one of the greatest baseball players of all time, is not allowed to be in the Hall of Fame because he bet on his own team to win, which is an all-time travesty to me.

Are we not all betting on ourselves anyway? People make the argument that's comparable to insider trading, but if that's the case, then why can family members of players,

trainers, coaches, anyone in the organization be allowed to bet? Today's sports air is different. These leagues have made money hand over fist using sports gambling in all sorts of forms, and there should be certain rules on players betting.

But not a total ban. We watch Ray Rice beat a girl up in an elevator for everybody in the world to see, and all he got was a two-game suspension. Greg Hardy slammed a girl's arm on a toilet lid and got 10 games.

Yet Calvin Ridley gets a whole year minimum. I feel like I'm in the upside down from stranger things, and we're going to see if Calvin Ridley can bounce back against all the odds.

Bringing our co-host, David Cohn here. It's always a tall order when you're dealing with him. My brother, the Dr. Seuss of hot takes, I guess you could say.

What's up that? That's actually a compliment today. I don't know. I'm feeling a little genuine. Are you generous as well?

Cohn, here's my thing. I can understand there's two logical arguments to both sides of this. And it is against the rules right now for NFL players to bet. So did Calvin Ridley break the rules? Yes. My argument is not with whether Calvin Ridley broke the rule.

My argument is I think the rule for lack of a better term, kind of sucks. And I don't like arguing or complaining about something unless I have a solution, right?

We talked about the officials having accountability, guys getting fined, maybe having somebody that can do a press conference after that. My solution is this.

How does I mention the top of the show? You could bet on your team to win on the money line, because they have ways of monitoring it.

You think they found out about Calvin Ridley? And don't think Calvin Ridley's the only NFL player betting on games. There's probably a ton of them. You come up with a fake email. There's ways people get around things.

Not saying everybody does it, but I guarantee it's more than Calvin Ridley. Why is it wrong for you to bet on your team on the money line or bet on other teams?

Because if you want to go into the insider trading situation, you can go down a whole list of, of rabbit holes to find that friends, friends of friends coming up with fake emails. It's going to happen.

People will do some people will do what you tell them not to do, but sports is evolving. The money's evolving. You can talk about, we talk, you said this earlier, talking about integrity of the game.

Well, I'm about to stick in here and Roger Goodell, talk about integrity of the game. We know this is about money. We know it's 100% about money. But why, in my opinion, can you not change the rule and say if you want to bet on your team on the money line?

And I want to hear at the Booster Club, I'll say about this in the wire chat. Again, two separate parts of the Booster Club coming together to form the mega range or power range yourself. Kimberly was my first crush, the pink ranger shout out Kimberly. I'm engaged now, but you know, it is what it is.

Why can't there be a rule you can bet on your team in the money line or other teams?
