Welcome to Ramdas here and now and I'm Raghun Marcus. We have a wonderful new episode coming up today. It's called Love and Incarnation.

Kind of a little bit of a strange topic. Actually when you hear it, it'll all make sense. And I want to bring up something around which reminds me around love.

Which is that we are going to be presenting a retreat at the end of April, April 29th through May 4th in Maui. And it's our first time in the spring to present a retreat at the Napoli Kai where we do these December retreats, Open Your Heart in Paradise, which many of you are familiar with.

And this time it's going to be Krishna Das will be there alongside of Ramdas and Roshi Joan Halifax, who is an incredible Buddhist teacher and very close to Ramdas for many many years. And Mirabai Star will be there who is an author and lecturer.

Does a lot of stuff around the Christian mystics and who else is going to be there? Who's going to be there? Duncan Trussell is going to come along. He's our podcast guru and we're going to do a podcast with Ramdas.

And Saraswati Marcus will be doing yoga with Lalita Kate Rabinavitch and it's going to be a grand time. And the subject which is why I was reminded is cultivating the courage to love.

So I think we're going to have some pretty great teachings around that. And in this particular talk, Ramdas really gets into what love is. I mean this is such, I mean our words in the English language, they have become so trite, the word love.

And how about guru, guru is like such a commonly used commercialized term. So it's very hard to convey the reality of what these words really mean.

And he talks in this talk lecture about once the world of interpersonal love ceases to be enough, then you know we try and go inward to find that other place where love is not a verb, love is being is a presence.

And he talks about how energy equals consciousness and truth, love, beauty. And at the top of the pyramid, all of these qualities come together and become one.

Then to explicate this, is that the right word? I think he tells this and again, you know, as I've said before, I of course, having known him as long as I've known him and listen to talks from all of those times.

And now in the job that I have with the foundation around us dot org, of course I continue to hear an extraordinary amount of talks from Ramdas.

And I'm always finding not only does he say things in many different ways, although some of the stories, of course, are repeated.

The way in which he may say it on any one different occasion illuminates that particular topic in a way that it hasn't been illuminated before. And that's the power of repetition at one level and the power of his city that he was able to do this. And in this particular case, he talked about an acid trip that he had.

And in that acid trip, he had a book of Mayor Bava's. And for those of you, I think many of you know who Mayor Bava is. He's my first turn on. I saw a picture of him smiling. And it said below the caption below was be happy.

And I don't know why, but that completely just his smile in his face and he was such an incredible being. So in the high part of this acid trip, he was looking at Mayor Bava. And then suddenly he was transformed or transported rather to some Greek hills. And he was walking in those hills. And he was met an old man, not sure who it is.

Who it was. I don't think he knew who it was. And they just stopped for a while and looked in each other's eyes. And he had never seen this look before from this being.
