0:31.4 | I feel like I've really conquered the substance and the society, but the |
0:34.9 | south part has been a bigger mountain to climb. Gosh, like nobody teaches us just like how to be human. |
0:42.0 | And so we all like just not taught in in schools and so we all go off and we we self-medicate just our very basic humanity and our very basic humanity looks like |

1:08.0 | So the last six months of the path are building a life you don't want to escape from. And we really call it like living alive, which is getting to that place where you do a lot of inner work on things like how you're the stories that you have in your head that you've created the |
1:26.9 | places where other people are radically pissing you off and and actually how those things might be true internal to you. |
1:36.0 | So I think that, yeah, what your job right now, and I think this is true for for everybody because as soon as you stop trying to self medicate I mean I would describe the moment that I kind of put down the bottle as really the first step of everything just that I value almost most in my life right now. |

But when we stop using the wrong tool, a lot of stuff. that of doing that work and it doesn't have to be purely alcohol free, you know, data points all along the way, no big deal, but recommitting to doing that work, that work of building that life you don't want to escape from, |
2:43.0 | it is, it's mind-blowing and it's, it's insightful and it allows us to |
2:50.0 | to just really learn how to be human, how to learn how to live awake. |
2:55.0 | And the problem with anything that numbs the lows is it numbs the highs. |
2:59.0 | So the amount of joy that I found on the other side of this work. I didn't expect. I mean I literally |
3:06.1 | have this naked mind logo and I have a joy necklace because it's just been so amazing and yeah there's there's some really low lows too. |
3:14.7 | But because but that's what life is. It's a lot of highs and a lot of lows and it's kind of the contrast and you know drinking was just such this |
3:24.3 | homogenous layer of repression and when we mute the the pain we mute the joy |
3:32.1 | so all of a sudden you start to come into these moments of joy |
