we often hear about running culture in Kenya and we've had discussed on other podcasts and in our

podcast even what it is that makes them such good runners or how they train. But actually,

this episode is so different because it talks about the negative

impact that running has had on the communities. It's based off an article that I read in 1843,

a magazine by The Economist, but it looks at what's been happening to athletes once they've achieved,

once they've got all this money and

they're bringing a huge amount of cash into these very poor villages.

And it was linked to an article called The Curse of the Kenyan Runners, but we go into

a lot more depth as well about individual cases and also about different ways in which it has had a kind of sinister

pervasive impact on Kenya. So strapping guys is really interesting. Take it away.
