| 0:55.0 | Welcome to Ramdas here and now. And this week's podcast comes from a talk that Ramdas gave. |
| 1:22.0 | May, June 23rd, 1973. Now he talks a little bit. So this is around when the whole Watergate hearings were going on, impeachment of Nixon. |
| 1:36.0 | That's really reaching back for many of you. But we were in sconce in an apartment. Ramdas, myself and Rameshwardas, who is Ramdas's co-writer and his last couple of books and my ex-wife, Parvati Marcus. |
| 1:59.0 | We were working on a record set called Love, Serve, Remember. And he mentioned stuff in here. He refers to watching the Watergate proceedings and we were doing this and we were watching. It was a huge thing at the time. |
| 2:19.0 | So it kind of triggered my memory about that time in that particular summer. And we were working, as I said, on this record set. And one interesting thing about this is it has not seen the light of day as CDs. |
| 2:45.0 | And it's something that we're working on here at the foundation. So you can look forward. There's some amazing phone calls that Ramdas did at the time with people asking questions and so on. Readings from the third page is end-patriarch. |
| 3:04.0 | Ramayana music, I mean, it's just an incredible spiritual hodgepodge. So anyhow, just recalling that this particular lecture though is it really is about how everything in one's life is nothing but teachings that allow one to go and back to union with the divine. |
| 3:31.0 | And it's karma yoga. I mean, so it's the yoga of action. And so he talks about how everything in his life is just simply grace. And that includes all the positive and the negative. And it's, so one interesting thing is, you know, he talks about there's an interesting analogy here to something to a great Tibetan teacher named Gilgokensi. |
| 4:01.0 | And it's the same thing that I think is actually a rumpushe that occurred to me as I was listening to this. And Ramdas talks about once that thing has happened to bring you into this room. So he's talking about the fact that he's giving this talk in this particular place, which I don't know where it was in the country. |
| 4:22.0 | And I'm sure that he had been on, you know, after we had done this, you know, this work on this record set. And so referring to the fact that one has woken up or one is on the path, you know, consciousness has come into a person's life. |
| 4:49.0 | And so it's happened. So he wants that thing. So that's what that thing is. |
| 4:54.0 | So it's brought you into this room. Then, you know, it's, he calls it, it's just mopping up from then on. It's, it's, you know, operation from here on out, which may take many lifetimes. There's nothing, it's just purifications. |
| 5:14.0 | So it's purifying up, opening up the heart, opening, get the mind calm down. And just recognizing that, you know, you have taken birth and, and function, and that the function of an incarnation is to end suffering, obviously starting with, with yourself and everybody else. |
| 5:35.0 | It just happened recently to come across this amazing quote from Dilgo Kensei, even to hear the teachings is something very rare, which only happens once in eons. |
| 5:53.0 | That you have met the Dharma. And that's the same as Ramdha was talking about once that thing has happened to you, that you have met the Dharma now is not just coincidence. |
| 6:06.0 | But it results from your past positive actions, such an opportunity should not be wasted. |
| 6:15.0 | Dilgo Kensei Rinpoche, who, one of the great Tibetan llamas, someone very close to my heart, that passed not that long ago, maybe 20 years ago, or a little bit longer, I'm not quite sure. |
| 6:33.0 | But certainly a contemporary of his holiness, the Dalai Lama and this 16th Carmapa. |
