Hi and welcome back to Ramdas Here Now and I'm Raghu Marcus and today we have of highly unusual

talk from Ramdas that it's a part of a talk from Ramdas that's actually taken it's unusual in a couple of ways. This is taken from a talk he gave at the University of Kansas and he gave this talk September 26th, 1973.

That was about literally two weeks in a day, actually two weeks from the day that Niem Kurolybaba Maharaji left his body in 1973.

So that's, I mean we were all in India, we went back for you know various ceremonies and so on and we all flew over together on a plane Ramdas and she must have been maybe 20 of us or something.

And it was a highly charged moment as you can imagine and I don't remember how long he was there but I mean I remember being there a few weeks myself he must have come back so he had just come back from India and he gave this talk and this talk this part of the talk is one of the well he talks about the two dominant themes.

So he's reaching for God and the mother all form being the mother the mother is Shakti energy of the universe and he talks about consuming the mother meaning all of the negative and positive all of the violence all of the beauty consuming Kali which is the emblem in India of the goddess who consumes ignorance who kills ignorance.

But the way that he just his vibration in this lecture I found highly unusual it was very striking in his exhortation to the audience that he was with that night to just get on with it he talked about you know your cut up an anger let it go your cut up and desire just let it go and he actually he refused.

He referred to Maharaji who who and I remember Maharaji saying to us you have a desire to drink this tea this chai don't drink it it was like this very you know coming from well Maharaji coming from the undivided this simple just if you and as Ramdas goes on he talks about if you want this is the big leagues if you want to be in the big leagues you got a

get down and dirty and let it go and you know it's that kind he had that kind of as you'll hear energy in this talk so really pretty interesting and even you want you talked about you know giving it up you give up your stuff to mother to Kali to guru to Maharaji and to Ramdas he actually put himself in that I've never heard him do

anything like that so but in I would relate my own experience actually in talking about mother as Shakti and mother manifest universe and he he mentions here Ramakrishna I know many of you know who Shri Ramakrishna is he lived in the last century and he was one of the

great spiritual beings from the last century and he was a devotee of Kali he lived near Calcutta in an ashram called the town ashram called dhaksinishwam which many people go on pilgrimage to this day Swami Vivekananda who came to America one of the first

Swami's Eastern spiritual beings to come here was a close devotee disciple rather of a Shri Ramakrishna and there's a great book written by a man called Shri M the gospel of Shri Ramakrishna now I encountered I first went to India and I ended up at the Shri Aurobindo ashram because Maharaji Ramdas I had written him and he said well we don't know where

Maharaji is and he was went off he and a bunch of people went off to do these Vipashana courses in both Gaya and I was in South India and ended up at the Shri Ramakrishna I'm sorry at the Shri Aurobindo ashram and where the the residents saint was called mother she was a French woman I think I've mentioned this before

who had who was sort of the spiritual sidekick of Shri Aurobindo who was an incredible philosopher saint and so she was alive when I was there and she was very old and I think she probably had Parkinson's or something she had lost motor control over different parts of her body which I had heard and then but she finally got well enough so she was seeing people so I eventually saw her but

before I saw her somebody gave me this book and I had no idea I mean I was 20 odd years old about what mother meant and what shocked me meant and I started reading this book and I completely got absorbed deeply into it and I had what you would call

a you know an understanding that was more centered in the mind than it was in the heart in the you know true experiential place from which we get a vastly more direct hit but I got something from the book the book is really powerful I mean this he was an amazing being the way that he reached out to Kali and the way that he relayed the book to Kali

and he was very excited with her and the way that he loved her I mean you know where he would merge with her and he would go into these incredible samadhi's trances and you can see pictures of him actually if you go up on the net you'll see pictures of him in trance they took from way back then

it was it was a it was a very special experience for me just reading this book and being out in a place called Orville I was out it's sort of a desert by the sea in a place called Ponda cherry India amazing place
