Four years ago, Beth Meyers and I only knew each other by reputation.

She was the senior advisor for Mitt Romney's campaign for President.

And I was the senior strategist for Barack Obama's re-election campaign.

And I only got to know Beth at campaign recap forums after the election.

And we became really good friends.

And I saw in her someone who was deeply passionate about politics for the right reasons.

I didn't agree with her on a bunch of stuff, but I really came to admire her and her

career in politics.

She's now a member of the advisory board of the Institute of Politics.

She's been a fellow at the Institute of Politics.

I sat down with her the other day to talk about state of the Republican Party and this

very interesting elect.

Beth Meyers, my friend, it's good to see you.

I can't help but think what we were doing four years ago when you were working for Mitt

Romney and I was working for Barack Obama.

I must say, I kind of like having this perspective right now, but I'm sure I'm speaking for

you as well.

Absolutely.

This is a presidential race I'm not terribly unhappy to be sitting out of.
