Hey guys, what's up? It's Candice Kumai, and this is podcast member episode 56. Welcome to the Wabi

podcast. It has been quite a wild ride since we've all last spoken. I have missed you guys. I have been putting my head down and working hard and making a difference in this world in ways that I know I can through storytelling,

through sharing, connecting, and inspiring all of you.

I'm constantly inspired by all of the recent events that have been happening in our culture

and in our climate right now. We're seeing a lot of political strife, racism, xenophobia,

all kinds. And I will say this moment in time, we will be remembered by the things that we did to make change.

People will not forget how you made them feel in this moment in time, which is so important

for the black community, the LGBTQ community, and the AAPI community to hear you stand up and support one another.

One of the greatest things that we have is the ability to connect through human contact,

communication. Our gift is sharing our story. So episode 56 is based on the women of the AAPI movement and my girlfriends who are AAPI in our community.

We stand in solidarity together with love.

On Monday, March 22nd at 3 p.m. PST. 2021 on Clubhouse in light of recent events, we thought it was more important for us to start addressing these challenges that are facing the Asian community in the U.S.

We knew that it was time to support through education, awareness, facts, and how we create change

together. So I want to introduce you to some of the most beautiful women that I am honored

to call my friends, Ali Maki, Jamie Chung, Aaron Lim, Shanina Sheik, Liv Goulding, Christina Rodolfo, Shadai McSween, Nadia Okamoto,

Ayakhanai, Diana Tsui, and myself, Candice Kumai. We all support the AAPI community, the black community, and all marginalized voices across the board.

This conversation was had on Clubhouse, again Monday, March 22nd at 3 p.m. PST.

You may have been there. You may have had a friend there, or you may not have heard this

conversation yet. But what you're about to hear is almost three hours of grace, open hearts,

lots of tears. And a moment in time, which I'm proud to say, was an unexpectedly beautiful
