Welcome to talking scripture. I'm Mike and I'm Bryce and today we are doing

Alma 8 through 12. There's so much in here that we don't even finish the message to the people of

Ammanihi it just keeps going in 13 we went through the whole sermon this would be a

two-hour podcast wouldn't it yes and unfortunately it breaks this story in half. So forgive us if we jump into this whole big picture, but we'll keep our comments to 8 through 12.

So this is the story of the destruction of Ammonaya.

And that is significant.

Because for the first time, other than the very beginning of the Book of Mormon where we know that

Jerusalem must be destroyed by the Babylonians, but that's not the story of the Book of Mormon.

This is the first time in the Book of Mormon that a city gets destroyed.

And that becomes a type and a shadow of the Second Coming, because the reality is the second coming will be the

destruction of our society as we know it.

It will be the cleansing of the earth and our society will be destroyed.

So we can take a whole lot of cues

from the destruction of Ammania

and learn some things about our day.

So we're going to approach this

and kind of say, big picture message here
