She's a coach and speaker and the creator of Think and Grow Chick, a movement where she

empowers women to unlock their potential

and think and grow into their purpose. Her work has been featured in Forbes, Essence Magazine,

and the White House, and I know that she has some major keys to share. So Courtney, are you

ready to confess? Absolutely. So I love starting the conversation by asking

what your professional background is because I find it so interesting how our passions tend to lead us

away from our profession. So what exactly did you start your career out doing? Yeah, I started my career working for the federal government in finance and banking.

So I did a lot with monetary policy, with asset sales, regulating banks.

In the day-to-day, it sounds kind of boring, but it was interesting from a high level,

because I've always

been fascinated about money, how it works, why some people have money, why some people don't, and

how our systems in the U.S., just how money works and how people are taking advantage of it.

So I did appreciate getting a kind of behind the scenes glimpse of how money really works in

this country.
