One of the most common questions that we as Salt Strong Coaches get when we're kayak

fishing is what safety equipment are you bringing with you when you hit the water?

Hello everybody and welcome to the Salt Strong Podcast.

My name is Rich Natoli.

As I mentioned, I am a Salt Strong Coach.

I cover the Mid-Atlantic in Northeast and I have been kayak fishing for well over 20

years.

I've been kayak fishing since before there were fishing kayaks.

I was using the old tandem sit on top ocean kayaks and other kayaks sit inside kayaks

out in the salt water, which can be pretty difficult at times.

So I've been through it.

I have a lot of experience out on the water trying to stay safe and as I get older, I realize

that safety is a much more important concern than I had maybe when I was in my teens and

20s.

So let's talk about that right now.

Let's dive right in and let's talk about the safety equipment that I'm bringing with

me every time I hit the water out on the kayak and I'm going to start off with the first

one, which is very clear, it is a PFD.
