Keaton Henson is an English musician, composer, and visual artist known for his hauntingly emotional songs and fragile voice. Despite his success, Henson rarely performs live due to severe anxiety and stage fright, which has become a defining part of his story. His debut album Dear… (2010) brought him widespread acclaim for its raw honesty, followed by Birthdays (2013) and Kindly Now (2016), which cemented his reputation as one of Britain’s most distinctive singer-songwriters. His orchestral work Six Lethargies was performed by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra at the Barbican, and his album Monument (2020) was praised for its moving exploration of loss. Alongside his music, he is also a talented illustrator and poet, known for blending art and emotion in all his work. His latest album Parader is out on 21st November .
Keaton Henson is our guest in episode 543 of My Time Capsule and chats to Michael Fenton Stevens about the five things he'd like to put in a time capsule; four he’d like to preserve and one he’d like to bury and never have to think about again .

| 0:00.0 | Hello again and welcome to my time capsule. I'm Mike Fenton-Stevens, and my time capsule is the podcast where people tell me five things from their life they wish they had in a time capsule. |
| 0:21.6 | They pick four things that they really love and one thing they'd like to bury and forget. |
| 0:26.7 | My guest in this episode is the musician, composer, visual artist and poet, Keaton Henson. |
| 0:33.3 | Keaton has released six studio albums, a wordless graphic novel titled Gloaming, published by |
| 0:38.9 | Pocco, and a book of poetry called Idiot Verse. He suffers from anxiety, and as a result, he rarely plays |
| 0:46.3 | concerts, and even more rarely does interviews, so this is something rather special. And yet, whilst |
| 0:52.0 | refusing to take part in all the normal publicity that a performer is |
| 0:55.3 | required to do, you would think, Keaton has been incredibly successful. His work has featured on a number |
| 1:01.7 | of television shows, including In The Flesh, Derek, Elementary, The Blacklist, and in the 2014 film |
| 1:08.3 | X Plus Y. His latest album, Parader, is out on the 21st of November 2025. |
| 1:15.0 | Just a few days after this episode is released, and it is class. You can hear tracks from it and order it via his website, keatonhenson.com. |
| 1:24.9 | You'll also get a chance there to see some of his astonishing music videos. |
| 1:28.9 | And at the end of this episode, he's given us permission to play his latest single, |
| 1:33.5 | Loose Ends. So make sure you stick around for that. It'll be after my usual chat about the |
| 1:38.7 | podcast. And if you know that already, why don't you just fast forward through it? |
| 1:43.4 | And if the name Henson seems familiar, |
| 1:45.9 | that's because Keaton is the son of the wonderful actor Nikki Henson and the ballet dancer Marguerite |
| 1:51.8 | Porter, MBE. So let's listen to this quiet, shy, charming, talented man and see what his |
| 1:59.0 | time capsule choice is revealed. Here is Keaton Henson. |
| 2:05.0 | Hi Keaton. How are you? |
| 2:07.1 | I'm okay. Yeah, well, what a gorgeous fireplace. |
| 2:11.6 | Thank you. It's good, isn't it? |
