My name is Brian.

For months I've tried to write this essay,

but I never seem to get it just right.

Perhaps my long labor may be helpful to someone.

This is the view from here.

Three decades I have suffered with depression and anxiety. Six times I have been hospitalized for

mental health issues. Eight. Eight times I came so close to ending my life I only had to pull a trigger or let go of a railing.
