And I think you gained a lot from a first game.

This felt like a first game where Illinois can impose its will against a weaker opponent,

but things to clean up certainly.

But let's start with the two big positives in that.

You may have two all big 10 players on this team.

And I don't want to go hyperbole off of one performance against the lower level opponent.

But Coleman Hawkins is best game in an Illinois uniform, 23 points, 12 rebounds.

That's his second double double.

And he went on a heater in the first half, five of six from three in the first half, over two in the second half, but 12 rebounds active defensively, three assists, two steals, block shot as well. And then Terrence Shannon looked pretty dang good. That's the kind of guard Illinois is not having a long long time. 6, 6, 6, 7, 220, gets downhill. 13 free throws was just too short of getting into the top 10 in a single game in Illinois history. That duo looks like it's going to be a pretty good two-way duo, because Shannon was great on the glass, great defensively as well. Yeah, and they really benefit each other with the way that Coleman can space the floor, open up that lane. I'm sure Terrence probably hasn't seen that much open space on each drive that he gets downhill to. And then for Terrence to really put pressure on the rim, as the season goes on, he continues to rack up those free throw attempts, those finishes at the bucket. The defense is going to try to collapse on him, which is just going to open up.

For shooters and a guy like Coleman, if he's going to shoot it like that, his draft stock, which is already projected in that second round, maybe early second round, could vault into the first. the first. Now it's just one game, the season just started, but that was a very confident
