Summary

I wrote THIS IG POST and immediately knew I needed to record an in depth podcast on the subject, because there are so many overlooked keys to great training and part of the reason they're so overlooked, is because people put too much faith in volume and intensity as standalone aspects. Not me and today, you'll learn why.

0:46.7

Today I'm going to give you 17 programming principles that come before volume and intensity, or at least they should.

0:56.7

These are things that I look at before I dive into volume and intensity when programming

1:00.6

for a client. So, you know, over the last five to ten years, I'd say, a lot of training

1:08.9

research has happened and been published. It's actually been really cool.

1:11.7

And in fact, sometimes it pulls me closer to the training realm than the nutrition realm,

to be honest with you, because I think that there's so much more to explore inside a training.

1:24.6

It doesn't make training more valuable or more important. As we know,

1:29.0

they're pretty equal. You know, I think that, uh, there's this, like, there's people that

1:32.6

always talk about, you know, like, oh, it's 80% diet, 20% training. I disagree with that completely,

1:37.8

especially because you can eat really, really well or eating at deficit or whatever and you're not

1:43.1

going to burn a ton of calories.

1:47.4

You're not going to build any muscle because you need a stimulus to do those things.

1:49.2
