Today we'll be telling a story about St. Scholastica, whose feast is celebrated on February 10th.

St. Scholastica lived during the 5th and 6th centuries in Italy.

She was born in Norsha, Italy, and has a very famous and saintly twin brother, St. Benedict, the founder of the Benedictines.

When St. Benedict founded his Abbey on Monte Cassino, St. Scholastica lived just a few miles away as the abbess of her own community of nuns.

St. Scholastica and her sisters also follow the rule of St. Benedict,

and some consider her community to have been the first Benedictine convent.

St. Galestica is the patron state of school, books, reading, and is invoked against storms and rain.

Now it's time for our story.

St. Galastica was so excited.

She looked forward to this date each year and now here it was

and it couldn't have been a more perfect day.
