It's good to be with all of you here again. I guess many of you were here last night as well.

The idea for today is to have it more of a practice day.

As you know, there are many different styles of meditation

and many different nuances of instructions.

And my own temperament leads me to kind of synthesize the different suggestions and techniques that I found helpful.

So today you'll be getting something of a mishmash,

A way of practice, and most of it will be familiar to you, but I'd like to emphasize today

not only the technique or the techniques of mindfulness, you know, and what it is that we should be paying attention to,

but also what we learn from being mindful because mindfulness is really just the first

step it's becoming attentive to what's arising and as we saw last night, there are many nuances to how we're being attentive.

Are we being attentive with openness?

Are we being attentive with aversion? Are we being attentive with grass? with

are we being attentive with a version, are we being attentive with grasping.

And so we want to really see and examine

to establish a baseline of mindfulness or awareness with whatever's arising

along with that balance of mind, that openness of mind, that equanimity, you know, that's not pushing things away, that's not holding on.
