0:00.0 | Good morning guys. Happy, happy Monday. Hope everybody had delightful weekend. I hope that I survived the Hamptons. I'm pre-recording this in the unlikely event or the likely event that I do in fact, |
0:13.0 | I've just perished this weekend in the Hamptons because you know how I feel about it. And one day I will work out with my lawyer Scott how I can get around the NDA and tell you all the story of the Hamptons last year. It's so funny isn't it? Like how so much can change in a year, especially when you go to the same place. |
0:28.0 | Almost a year apart, which is last year I went right around this time and I had truly the mentee B of all mentee B's it was such a comedy of errors. It was hysterical. Anyway, one day I'll tell you this story. |
0:43.0 | I'm recording this in case I die because I'm around too much waspiness or I don't know something like that. I'm just kidding. I'm sure I had a lovely time. I got going to see lots of my friends. I'm going to see Neil who's hosting a benefit for his foundation and I'm going to host you an event for Bandier, which is one of my favorite brands, the loveliest people and they make the coolest tank tops those tank tops that I never take off. |
1:06.0 | I think it's called the ribbing to tank top and it's literally my favorite piece of clothing. I digress a while ago I told you guys that I wanted to start a new series called top five and it could be a short thing like OK top five lip glosses. I'm obsessed with top five salads. I mean, I need more than five fours about salads. |
1:26.0 | But today I bring you top five podcasts episodes that change my life and I like lists. I don't know if it's because I have various strands of mental illness or because I'm a Virgo or just because I like lists. |
1:42.0 | But I just love a list and I also love curation, which is why I tried to provide a lot of those things to you guys because there's just too much out there isn't there. You know, there's too much. There's too much of everything and it's really hard to know what to listen to what to consume one to eat what to put on your face. Anyway, I digress again. |
1:59.0 | Now, very important, but I never gave listen up. This is for you. I'm not saying these are the best five episodes of the podcast of any podcast out there. I'm not saying that I've listened to all of them. I'm saying these are five that change my life materially. |
2:14.0 | And you guys know me, I get quite I get quite affected by things in a good way is in well, good and a bad way. I can read a book and it will genuinely change the way that I live my life, which I is one of my favorite things about myself because I'm trying to always improve. |
2:30.0 | And I listen to people and you know what, it's two sides of the same sword. I I ask for a lot of advice by way of reading and consuming different people's opinions and therefore I like to give it as well when asked and sometimes let's listen to two. |
2:44.0 | So I could probably do about 10 of these episodes, but I'm going to start here and it was really hard to narrow down the list and I'll try to go through them and tell you what I took away from them, not really spoil what's in them per se. |
3:00.0 | I'm going to provide some highlights just in case you're feeling a bit lazy and you don't feel like listening to those episodes and you just want to listen to my podcast and you just want the highlights. Also, I want to take a minute to say podcasting is more difficult than you think and I'm not trying to do my own horn. |
3:18.0 | I mean that in the sense of I secretly thought when I would get on here, I would just run my mouth and you know ramble away and it would be fine and I have had to work at it. I'm by no means a good podcast or yet, but I try hard to be 1% better every day as I talk about with you guys. |
3:34.0 | But I think to me, a good podcast is quite difficult. It's a mix of you know, you have to listen to people, you have to ask the right questions, you have to have a good cadence, you can't say like you can't say, um, there's a lot to think about and so much more than I ever so much more than I ever thought. |
3:54.0 | And now that I have my own podcast when I listen to other people's I'm like, damn, you're really good at that or wow, you're an amazing interview or whatever. So without further ado, I'm going to dive in and this is a no particular order. |
4:08.0 | Okay, the first one is a Glen and Doyle, she has a podcast called We Can Do Hard Things. And if you have been following me for a while, you know, the while back I read unhamed and like the rest of the world, I became completely obsessed with her. |
4:23.0 | And it was a book that changed my life. And then I listen to her podcast, not regularly, but you know, when there's someone who I like on it or whatever. |
4:31.0 | And the episode that I really changed my life is very recent, I think like two weeks ago, it's with Chelsea handler. |
4:38.0 | And Chelsea handler is one of my idols. I look up to her very much. I really, really just think she's a fantastic person. I'll tell you why, because she's a woman who is capable of change. |
4:52.0 | And she's very honest with everyone about everything that she does and how she's worked on herself. And I mean, obviously this is, I see a bit of myself in her. |
5:06.0 | And I hope that's not rude to say to her because she's literally the coolest personal life. But I see we have some similarities. And when I was on her podcast, Chelsea's, she was so kind to me. And she gave me really good advice. And she's just a fantastic person who's career. |
5:21.0 | I think is, I admire a lot. Anyway, so she dated Joe Koi for almost a year. And everybody was so bought in on their relationship. Everybody was so happy for them. It was literally the internet's relationship. |
