the Wu-Sey and Deng, one of the most important, most pivotal, most significant events and periods in modern China.

Some historians contend modern China begins with this explosive event on May 4, 1919. I'm sure a lot of you've been wondering, going back to the Treaty of Nanjing in

1842 and through each and every subsequent slap in the face China got from Japan and the Western powers.

When were they ever going to stand up and say enough already?

Well, this is it, this episode.

This is the event in Chinese history where China sort of wakes up and finally, instead of acquiescing automatically to whatever the latest demands are, China now really starts to get some backbone and begins to explore real ways

to get out of this situation there end. This movement, among other things, gave rise to

the Communist Party of China.

This is where the founders of the party

received their greatest inspiration and nationalistic pride

and also got their earliest boost.
